Imus

4/16 Imus

After following the ouster of Don Imus last week and all the fallout surrounding it, I felt bad. I have only heard excerpts of his show as he’s not broadcast where I am. Imus made a comment he shouldn’t have. And I felt a twinge of guilt as a white male for being more upset with those who ran screaming to the sides of the Rutgers players.

I felt the piling on of Sharpton, Jackson, Oprah, Obama, Hillary and others, who did this for personal gain to be far more loathsome. If they were concerned about stopping this kind of language, they would have long ago gone after the Hip Hop crowd. A great civil rights leader would do so. Where is she?

When Barack Obama posed for a photo-op with Al Sharpton, did Sharpton talk about “[Jewish] diamond merchants,” “crackers,” “bloodsucking Jews,” and “white interlopers” the way he and his entourage did when a member of the latter burned a Jewish-owned store in Harlem and killed seven people?

Did Sharpton trade notes with Obama about how “Greek homos” (Sharpton’s words) were living in caves while Black people were building empires and “inventing astrology?”

Did Sharpton tell Obama that he was glad Obama is not a cheap “n***er whore turning tricks in City Hall,” as he called David Dinkins?

Imus may have used poor judgment. Sharpton is a racist hatemonger every bit as bad as the Aryan Nations' Tom Metzger.

To winged hussar 1683: Truth is that without the Imuses, there would likely be no Sharpton. I'm more upset at Imus for giving Sharpton and Co. reason to holler, than for the stupid comment he made.
